Who needs a PrDP Medical Certificate?

A professional Driving Permit is mandatory for anyone driving heavy-duty and public transport vehicles.

A valid professional driving permit is needed for any of the below vehicles:

  • Goods vehicles (with a GVM of more than 3 500 kg).
  • Breakdown vehicles
  • Buses (any bus)
  • Minibus (with a GVM of more than 3 500 kg), or which is designed or adapted for the transportation of 12 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Motor vehicles transporting 12 or more people, including the driver.
  • Any vehicles used to transport people for payment.
  • Vehicles carrying dangerous goods (with a GVM of more than 3 500 kg)
